I think all of the fighters active in the boxing game should leave HBO and Showtime and go to ESPN...they could make a boxing channel so that the fighters could earn some good money if they don't want to take a paycut on regular ESPN...maybe charge $5-50 dollars depending on the fight, if they need to...but hopefully more would agree to fight on regular cable, at least to promote themselves and the sport...there is still money in other things if people know your name...this is kind of like what my problem with Terrell Owens was: if TO would of stayed in Philly, he could have made a ton of money for the rest of his life by becoming a "legend" here in Philly, how would he make more money?, by building restaurants and other things.


That, and I wouldn't mind seeing fights on regular television.

ray mancini was americas sweetheart from 1982-till bramble
he was boom boom..very exciteing very dramatic he bled and he was white
he captured alot of peoples imageinations with his wild brawling style
he'd be stoped in 5 rounds by pryor no doubt pryors oncomming 2 fisted assult would be to much

great post. thats how i remember mancini. i felt sorry for him .sometimes his face would swell up and he'd look like a different type of mammal. like a woodchuck or a beaver.
refreshing to see those clips of pernell whitaker. one of the few who was so damn fast and accurate they could get away with fighting like ali with there hands down by there side.he had a loud mouth but he could back it up.
