Im not sure if this was posted here or not but.............

Albuquerque fighter Vicente "El Picosito" Garcia, was found shot to death, from multiple gunshot wounds, at 2 AM Thursday morning at 62nd street and Avalon Road near Coors Blvd in Albuquerque. The 20-year-old Garcia, a welterweight with a record of 13-5 with 9 KOs, was not only New Mexico's gamest fighter, but had been one of the best amateurs in years, winning the Bronze medal in the International Junior Olympics. Garcia had been scheduled to fight Jan. 5 in Albuquerque, after a Top Rank card slated for Nov. 3 relocated to Arizona. A cross-town match against Ray Sanchez III was also in the works for a future Top Rank card. Garcia will be sorely missed in the New Mexico fight scene. On behalf of the boxing scene, NewMexicoBoxing.com sends out prayers and condolences to all of Garcia's fans, his friends, family and, especially, to his father/trainer, Robert Padilla.
