He should of been allowed to use a southpaw stance too...people think of this as getting confused, but that is bull****...when one thing isn't working, try something else.
Anybody remember what fight it was when one of the fighters that was getting beat up for about half the fight decided to switch to southpaw and it actually worked...his opponent didn't do well with southpaws so it worked out.
I can't remember where I saw it, but I think it was this year -
I think that was last year and I remember being amazed. I think the dude lost anyway, but it was a VERY close fight even though the dude lost the first 5-6 rounds. I definitely remember seeing that about a year ago.He should of been allowed to use a southpaw stance too...people think of this as getting confused, but that is bull****...when one thing isn't working, try something else.

Fans tend to look at Mike Tyson as just a beast with freakish KO power, they fail to realize that he's got good boxing skills as well. He always throws punches in combos and moves a lot early in his career, but he kept on knocking out opponents with single shots. It became a bad habit tho, he can't get back to basics in his latter years and he paid dearly for that.
Another fighter who can quickly switch stances is Marvin Hagler. He has the same dilemma as Tyson, fans tend to see him more as a slugger.
Switching stances is not a sign of getting confused, it's called skill.Comment

wish I remember the fighters names...it was a fight where I thought, this guy is smart because he didn't just decide to pack it in, he decided to adjust, which few ever do...it also made me happy that somebody showed success (even though he ended up losing because he was to far behind), what others believed that fighters do when they are "lost/confused/panicked/etc.", it was like he shoved that myth down his pants and took a bowel movement on it.Last edited by Abe Attell; 10-12-2006, 12:13 AM.Comment
