You mentioned that, but how do you know this for a fact?

I heard Arum say it, and Margariot echo it,

But Goosen maintains Top Rank would not even discuss it.

Where's your info coming from and how is it factual?

You should give that a try yourself:

Dan Goossen: We weren’t even able to discuss it with Top Rank. They knew of our desire to fight Antonio Margarito on December 2nd and our calls were never returned.

maybe that interview was old and then top rank did discuss the fight later with them and they priced themself out?

Date on it was Sept. 26th, after Top Rank moved forward with the Clottey fight, so no, that doesn't add up.

I'm not saying it's right, there's just two conflicting accounts and Arum should in no way receive the benifit of the doubt. He's a snake.

Goossen's no saint either, but I don't see how it makes sense to price yourself out of something and then continue to bring it up. I've seen he and Williams speak about it many times over the last 4 weeks, where as Arum dropped the comment once and never mentioned it again.

              Seems su****ious.

Outside of the "never gonna be ready for prime time player" Kermit Cintron, I can only recall one sizeable fighter Margarito facing, and that was Daniel Santos. When Margarito hit him with shots that felled smaller fighters, Santos was still there and won a decision. Williams presents a similar situation with his large size and durability. Margarito doesn't want someone who is strong enough to trade with him, he likes smaller fighters who will move away and let him do his thing. Williams presents a style that can not only beat him, but expose a weakness in Margarito's game. If Margarito decides to vacate the title instead of facing Williams, count on him taking alot of heat for that move.

he fought both hercules kyvelos and danny perez who were bigger than him. Santos was 20 lbs heavier than tony in that fight. we all know what 20 lbs can do for a fighter if u look at gatti/gamache.

Fight Paul Williams your MANDATORY, it would have been by far a bigger fight and better fighter than Joshua Clottey...

You need a good resume if u want a fight with the best BOXER in the sport
                      Summed up rather nicely.
