Margarito is the product of promotion. His name was promoted off the fact that Floyd Mayweather wouldn't fight him because he was a complete unknown. Bob Arum wanted to build his name up to feed him to either Mayweather or Cotto for a huge payday (for Arum and Mayweather/Cotto) and got denied by Floyd. He was still on the same path to do it for Cotto until Margarito got exposed by Williams as being a sparring partner. Arum will still attempt to build him up as something special with a couple more bums to try getting people on his side. Fortunately for every idiot who believes Margarito is anything more than an overhyped "C" fighter, there are 10 who understand that he's nothing more than a filler on an undercard to get the crowd ready for the main event and 30 more who think he's the star of a mexican soap opera.

There is your plain and basic common sense.

Nobody who got the **** kicked out of him but got saved cause the other guy jacked up his hand has any right to call himself the best. He got schooled BAD in that fight until the injury.

        4) Margarito himself was ducking fighters- so your excuse is ironic.

        5) He ended up getting his ass kicked for standing around for the 1st 8 rounds, so Floyd's accusations against Margarito ended up being true.
You say his name around casual boxing fans and they think your talking about a drink.

So because you don't like the way he fight and he is a class c fighter we should not care about his entertaining fights?

Who's more exciting to watch fight Clottey or Margarito? Williams or Margarito? People like action and real ko's. This is commen sense.

why did floyd mayweather duck an overhyped c fighter like you say for the biggest payday of his life to fight other guys for half the money?? use some plain and basic common sense and you will be able to see that mayweather knew margarito is a bad man. he knew margarito could ruin his career with one punch and that is why even $8 million was not enough. that is why $4 million was not enough for winky. keep living in denial.

Mayweather didn't fight an overhyped C fighter because he didn't want to fight an overhyped C fighter and have fans pissed that he fought an overhyped C fighter who most people never heard of. At least a fighter like Gatti brought name recognition to the fight. If he fought and beat Margarito, everyone would have asked why he fought a no-name bum.

all the real boxings fans wanted to see mayweather margarito and for a career high payday only a coward would turn that down. margarito has proven he is elite fighter and will be recognized in the p4p list when he knocks out cotto.

Margarito has already proved to be one of the slowest, least technically sound fighters in the world. If he beats Cotto, it's because he has a hard head he can use to block punches.

Suggestion to boxingscene. How about taking threads that are older then a year long and putting them in a archieve so nobody can bump them back up again like this guy did with this thread.
