Briggs Feels Robbed, Rules Out Third Fight

After 24 rounds of hell with WBC light heavyweight champion Tomasz Adamek (31-0, 20KOs), Briggs (25-3, 18KOs) tells The Australian that he has ruled out a third meeting because he feels that he was robbed in the fight. The demand for a third meeting is high, and HBO would be all ears to air a third meeting on their network. HBO was said to be very impressed with Briggs and interested in bringing him back to the network. [details]

briggs is a good fighter and a good guy, but hes got a big mouth and an even bigger ego problem. he lost the first fight fair and square. i had the first fight 117-111, the closest it couldve been was 114-114.

the point deduction for the "low blow" was bull****. what happend to two warnings before a point deduction, especially if the blow was unintentional? the 2nd fight was closer than the first, and briggs could make an arguement to say he won. but he wasnt robbed. he should've known he needed a knockout to beat adamek in chicago.

agreed. but there are three other LHW titles he could shoot for. so he shouldnt give up.

i think he deserves another title shot, but adamek beat him twice, so hes not gonna get it done against adamek.

He warned him twice to keep up his gloves before the REAL low blow... Watch the fight again and you will see.

The low blows were really bad. The first one wasn't a tap that went below the belt and the ref said "Come on now" - it was one that made Briggs hit that canvas. Then there was another that may or may not have gotten a warning but it was definitely low.

I scored last night's fight 114-112 for Briggs. I watched it from the floor at the Allstate Arena. I'm interested to see if when I see the replay on HBO2 here in a half hour or so, that I will see it the same way.

It was wierd when Larry Merchant was explaining Briggs' life. He was like he was ****d as a child, did drugs, kick boxed and was a DJ

                WTF!?!?!?!

yes pretty well said....obviously the judges took the safe route!!...i don't know how on earth a judge had it 115-111...considering Adamek got knocked down and also had a point deducted!....that makes me think the judge was watching another fight or just listening to the crown cheer when adamek would punch air!!
