Is this a joke? How the hell is a 5.9 James Toney going to touch a 7.0 Valuev, be real now, some ppl here said Toney was gona jab Valuev to death, it gave me a good laugh, Toney is too slow, too short to escape Valuev's offense, its a really bad matchup for Toney and I hope it never happens...

Have you seen how slow Valuev is? Peter is no bum. He may not be a great heavyweight but he's not some guy off the streets.

I really don't know what to think of that matchup. I think Valuev is too big for a small heavy like Toney. Toney is not a big guy relative to a normal heavyweight. I think Valuev would tire him out quickly just by clinching and leaning on him. I don't know if Toney could roll with a punch coming from a guy that's 100+ pounds heavier than him. I really like James Toney, but I think the size difference is probably too big.

Way too big of a size difference. How would Toney even be able to reach this guys face with a jab the way some are claiming he can do all night to Valuev ? Toney doesn't have long arms and stands at 5'9...how can he beat this guy ?

I don't think he can, for the same reasons you just mentioned. He's just physically too small.

Peter is slow maybe more slow then the giant but if peter can land shots on toney then what make u think the giant can't? toney can land all the bodyshots he wants but that's not going to win him fights he must atleast hit valuev in the face and atleast hurt valuev which he can't. This fight is a mis match. Valuev would win easily with his size but leaning on toney all night.

The bodyshots are also scored. I seriously doubt Valuev could land a solid punch on Toney. Too slow and too predictable.

Toney hasn't long enough arms and his blocking style, shoulder roll or how you call it would suck against a much taller opponent.

I've just read this thread and saw some idiots saying that Toney needs to hurt the Giant to win the fight.

Let me tell you somthing you ******s, this is boxing, not power punching, some of the greatest boxers of all time won most of their fights without hurting the person they were fighting.

The giant will land some punches on Toney, but not much, he doesn't have the power to hurt Toney.

This fight will be easier then the Peter fight who Toney beat pretty easily with being out of shape.
