The final bout of Showtime's super middleweight tourney has been set. The Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, California, was the venue for two hard fought semi-final bouts of a tournament trying to revive the super middleweight division. [details]

The final should be a lot better. In the first fight Mendey's agressiveness really won him the fight. Buchanan couldn't stop him from coming forward and he took a lot of left hands. Most of the punches he landed weren't that clean, but they did some damage. You could tell his southpaw stance confused and disrupted Buchanan's offense. Hanshaw just plain picked Bunting apart with an array of sharp head and body puches. I like Hanshaw in the final, because he is the more smarter and polished of the two. Hanshaw, unlike Buchanan will be able to counter puch more effectively and make Mendey adjust in the fight. -

this is probably the best final match up that could've happened. Hopefully more people watch the final in January than did the fights leading up to it..Comment
