both chico and JLC should just jump to 147. They're barely making 140 as it is, and they're killing themselves doing it. WW division would be loaded with big money fights.
Corrales comments on weight: "I pretty much killed myself to be here"

But Castillo wanted it to be at a higher weight, but the opposing fighter always refuses, kind of like how Pac refuses to fight Morales at a healthier weight for him (Eric)...its about advantage vs disadvantage.
That's why, even though Tszyu was drained and looked unhealthy for the Hatton fight, I don't blame Hatton, it was all Tszyu's fault for trying to stay at 140, instead of moving up...others like Chico vs Castillo, Pac vs Morales, etc. are determined to have the fight at a specific weight and give the fighter two choices, fight at this weight or don't fight, and if you don't fight, get ripped in the media, which I think is bull****, but it happens.Comment

very good point on that.
If you think you cant do it then go to another wieght class.
your pro and you showed act pro.
I think Castillo and Corrales should just retire if they cant make it. Mayweather went to 140 and used his boxing skills. the problem with these guys is that they are using power so once they are advance they lose that advantgeComment

Whatever you may think about him trying to make the weight - he made it 4 months ago and now all of a sudden he can't even get within 4 pounds of it!?! It's bull****. He's doing exactly what Castillo did to him. He has made no attempt to make the weight in my opinion. He knows that Casamayor is the better fighter (Casamayor beat Castillo relatively easily and got robbed) and that he needs the extra weight advantage. What a ****ing prick. If he carries on with his law suit against Castillo he should be made to give any money he makes from that straight to Casamayor lolComment

you have got to be kidding me...I'm just seeing this bull**** for th first time and I must say its pretty damn funny...this punk bashed castillo and now he go and does the same thing...amazing....
"I grabbed Casamayor’s hand after the weigh-in and apologized," said Diego Corrales after failing to make the 135lb lightweight limit, thus forfeiting his WBC title on the scale. "It’s not something I tried to do. I’ve been trying so hard to drop the weight, I was almost at the point of passing out this morning. Honestly, I’m responsible for my actions. I believe if you make a mistake, you should be punished. I made a mistake and should be punished. When I was at the 147 area a few weeks ago, I knew it might be tough to get down. I got down a bit and thought I might get there, but I just couldn’t crack 142 pounds. Every day, I trained, ate salad and still weighed 142 pounds. I was actually afraid I was going to pass out today – I worked out three times with no food or water. I just got done working out for two hours and only lost half a pound. That pretty much sums it up. I pretty much killed myself to be here at this fight." Corrales' trainer Joe Goossen added, "Monday was his last meal and it was a little bit of tuna and small salad. He’s been sucking on ice chips since."
