    Fastest active fighter today?

Quite a trivial question, but with all the talk about hardest hitting, it got me thinking of that underappreciated quality: speed.

Obviously Valuev and Kevin McBride head the list, but if we take them out of the equation, who is it?

The Blow obviously has a lot of natural speed, and - despite the level he's fighting at - Amir Khan does seem naturally blessed in that area. Obviously Roy Jones would have more than qualified just two or three years back, but he's slowed greatly, sadly.

My actual pick might well be Zab Judah. He was notably faster than Mayweather, though his stamina means this only last for six rounds.

    But what say YOU?

I was actually amazed in the first couple of rds of their fight how much faster Zab was. But as you say he melts down quite fast. He did have a legit KD against Mayweather, but for some reason wasn't ruled as such. It's the exact same as wwhen B-Hop Kd'ed Tarver, nothing amazing but the glove ounched the ground

Toney has pretty fast hands for a heavyweight. He just at times doesn't throw them enough.

I want to see that again, because someone assured me that he regained his balance before it hit the ground, but I saw it as you did. I certainly thought Mayweather only got a close (ISTR) 115-113 decision, or thereabouts, not the virtual landslide the judges gave us.

I would say Zab is the fastest on a world class level. Although Malignaggi seemed fast against low level opposition also.

P4P, Guzman is definately up there.

But the fastest actual hands belong to a minimumweight most likely.

some fighters can be fast, but showing only burst of quickness once in a while. some tire out real quick if they do it too often. maybe the question should be is who's quickness is consistent the whole fight.
