Very good fighter and I like him but I don't expect him to beat anyone too great.
Lots of respect for Cotto

Not to mention that Qunitana's style of being a boxer is the exact style people claim that Cotto will struggle against.i don't know. i like cotto. but think he has been brought up in baby steps.he's had tougher times with opponents that people thought he should of walked through. his power isnt proven to me. feel he's going to have a tough time hanging with upper class welters. quintana who's a genuine welter/lt middle will be a true test for cotto.
I've like Cotto's opponent selection so far (with the exception of Paulie) and think it has been very solid with many undefeated contenders sprinkled in there.
Like many of Cotto's other fights Quintana is a recognized undefeated contender and not an established champion and while I applaud Cotto for taking a tough fight I still hope that he follows this fight up against champions.Comment

I think his chin will hold up fine in the welters. Earlier in his career when he wasn't struggling with his weight he would take flush shots to the face and keep coming but, once he started to drain himself to make 140 that's when people started to question his chin.Comment

Great post. I agree and give Cotto all due respect.Cotto has been fighting name opponents as long as I can remember, and that's very respectable. This fight with Quintana coming up is even more respectable. A lot of people say Cotto can't handle a good boxer, so what does he do? Goes out and finds one to prove it against. I always pull for Cotto to win because I always support guys that make the fights people want to see. Malignaggi and Branco may not have had impressive resumes, but they were fights people wanted to see. Branco gave Gatti all he could handle in 2004, and Cotto went in there and dislocated the guy's shoulder. Then Malignaggi came out of nowhere early this year, talking **** and what not, so Cotto signs to fight him and shut him up. It didn't matter that Malignaggi was unproven and unknown outside of his mouth. The fight was still appealing, and Cotto took it, even though we all knew nothing about Malignaggi. Who fights an opponent they don't know **** about? Miguel Cotto. I hope he pulls out the win in December because this guy could be one of boxing's biggest stars at the rate he is going.
Oh and mad props to his management. They really got their **** together.Comment

I thought his brother was better than him, and he got manhandled by a light-hitting Juan Diaz, while Miguel was in the audience watching the fight.
I'm not sure about his power; he couldn't knock-out Paulie Malignaggi, while many other fighters would have done it easily in that weight class.
He’s an exciting fighter, but I can guarantee you that he won’t beat any big names.Comment

I will bet 3000 points on Cotto.. You down? Anyone?
Cotto is a good fighter. Don't worry his time will come. He will beat Quintana. This fight may seem like a threat but Cotto knows what to do. Cotto's chin will be better at 147 without him draining himself. But Cotto will get threw Quintana. As much as i wanted Quintana to go his seperate ways an take try to take over at 147 ain't gonna happen. So just put both Puerto Ricans in the ring together. lolComment
