    Whats up with Jirov?

I know he fought a couple of times against weak oppossition and struggled his last fight. He was one of my favorite fighters and I can't believe he lost to Michael Moorer. Anybody know what he's been up to?

There was a brief time here at boxingscene where Jirov may have been the most popular fighter all around...

Suggesting that Micheal Moorer was going to stop Jirov caught me and some others (soundtraveler) some hardcore flack!

Last I heard he was moving to Cruiser which is a good move however regardless of his move he has lost far too many brain cells, maybe he and Mesi should get in their and do it again-it would make for a great ROCKY type fight!

I guess moving up in weight was his downfall? I like his style. Ive only seen his fight with Toney though. He was relentless.

I remember before the Jirov fight, Mesi said how he believed Jirov was going into a division he doesn't belong. In a sense saying he's a kid about to be destroyed by a man by going from cruiser to heavy. Afew knockdowns later, postfight interview, Mesi is saying how he's a cruiserweight with a heavyweight punch. Yeah ok Mesi, so I guess if you faced a true heavyweight with a heavyweight punch, he'd be saying oh, he's just a heavyweight with a super heavyweight's punch. Mesi is the one that didn't belong in the heavyweight division because he couldn't take a heavy's punch.

jirov was a very good fighter at cruiserweight but going up to hw was not a good idea....but what did him in were his fights with toney at cruiserweight and against mesi at hw those fights were brutal and exciting but jirov came up short in both.

i really like jirov but diego's right. jirov has flopped almost every time hes been a HW. he was stopped by michael moorer for gods sake, and then he drew with orlin norris!

i dunno if hes damaged goods, if moving down to CW will make him any better, etc.

i dont know what to make of jirov anymore. he used to be awesome, now its like "wtf happend?"
