** Boxing is a lot of things, all dependent on the fighter's skill, talent, and mindset.

Since you're a Floyd fan, let's take him. He's got skill and talent, but does he have the mindset anymore to be great? He didn't show good ring generalship against Judah but for a few rounds. He let Judah get to him mentally.

And Castillo was showing Ring Generalship in those portions of the fight by forcing Floyd to where he wanted him and controlling those portions of the action.

Ring Generalship, like every other aspect of scoring, in most fights ebbs and flows throughout he round. The job of a judge is to decide who did the most of those 4 things for the largest portion of the round.
One of the reason there will never be scoring that pleases everyone in boxing is because different judges consider different things effective and give credit where ther judges might not. That's the problem with a subjective scoring system, but I have never heard a real suggestion as to how to change this. I don't think there is.

I also think people really don't understand this aspect of scoring. A good example would be a fighter who comes forward constantly, being aggressive but missing a lot. Even if he's missing, if his offense is keeping you from being able to launch your own, he's still controlling the action, therefore exhibiting ring generalship.
You mean Like Sam Peter did against Toney? then wheres the Conspiracy?

theres a fine line between running and ring generalship
unfortuantly most seem to cross that line and go into runnung
thats why when greats come along u know theyre great
cuz they just walk that fine line
u just know they arent running
theyre doin what needs to be done
                its hard to explain
                its ring generalship
                when it is
                if it aint
                it aint
                u just know
                ya know...............??

There's a lotta gray areas in judging these aspects of a decision, how do judges make up their minds and make this areas black & white? $$$
