This writer is clearly biased. The evidence is in his discreption in the final round. Cause to me, it was Duddy who came out swinging and landing bombs, only to aggravate Campas and get him rallied up and Duddy got more then what he was looking for and once Campas turned up the heat it was all dominated by Campas in the final round. Is undefeated John Duddy (18-0, 15 KOs) another hyped up prospect or the real deal? Boxing scribes were split on the answer after watching Duddy's decision winning effort over veteran Ramon "Yory Boy" Campas (88-9, 72 KOs) [details]Comment

definetly was duddy pressing the action in that final round. he got hit with a savage combo that started campas's whole barage. But campas was prolly gonna try for the KO a couple seconds later anywayThis writer is clearly biased. The evidence is in his discreption in the final round. Yeah, i clearly seen Duddy attack Campas and Campas said "**** this!" and bam he had Duddy ready to go but not enough time to finish him off.Comment

wow you guys are something....a prospect gets wobbled once and all of a sudden he is nothing more than the next Gatti?
I guess Lewis' became nothing more than a Gatti when McCall dropped him
I guess Holyfield became nothing more than a Gatti after struggling with Cooper or going the distance with Quawi
It just depends on how you look at it. Prospect is put to the test, gets hit a bit, but shows his grit and determination, and skills to win?
or the age old "exposed"
well just know that EVERY fighter is "exposed" at some point in their career, plenty of them get far after that...
don't write these guys off...these are the tests that we want them to have right? yes...Comment

It's hard not to write someone off as "exposed" when a well past his prime fighter 2 divisions above his prime weight gives him as hard a time as Campas gave Duddy.
It's highly possible that Campas just had that one last great fight in him, but that's on the short end of the possibilities. The bigger likelihood is that a crafty veteran with deteriorated skills was nearly too much for Duddy.
I have to give Campas props. I thought he was going to get KOd. Not a bad performance from someone with nearly 100 fights.Comment
