Dan Rafael on Miranda vs Abraham & Neumann

When the ref asked Abraham if he wanted to continue, he clearly shook his head no. He was badly hurt and didn't want to go on. They were going to stop the fight until Abraham's team realized he would lose via TKO. Then they made him fight. They gave Abraham like 10 minutes to recover in the 5th and let the corner work on the bleeding. It was an absolute joke...Comment

i'll allow the argument from people saying the fight should've been stopped after the headbutt-stoppage, that's all and good, i'll even agree that the ref wasn't 100% fair to Miranda the whole fight (who didn't exactly make a positive case for himself from the attitude at the staredown-on thru the fight),
but i refuse to let people say Abraham didn't deserve the win.. he was the better fighter up until those last 3-4 rounds where i'm sure the jaw was in horrific pain by then, i mean, by then, an infant tapping that jaw would send tremendous pain-waves through Abraham, how would a couple uppercuts from Miranda feel?
I have no problem with how Abraham avoided much of the contact in those last 3 rounds, he's not ******, he knew he'd won many of the early rounds and Miranda got himself in trouble thanks to his headbutt and low blows. Why give Miranda a chance to make the damage worse in that situation?
For the last time, rematch, next year please...Comment

IBF will allow Miranda to keep his #1 spot and be the mandatory challange for Abraham when and if he recovers. In other words there will be a rematch, we just might have to wait awhile until Abraham has recovered from the brutal beating he took...Comment

lol, believe me 2000, Miranda didn't exactly come away from the fight "scratch-free" like you think he did.. he'll need some time as well, obivously not as much as a broken jaw, but still..Comment

Dan Rafael is apparently an idiot who didn't watch the fight. One sentence alone there is pure bull ****.
"Miranda should have won. He dominated the second half of the fight."
No and no. The second half of the fight which Dan claimes Miranda dominated was hardly domination. Miranda was throwing 3x as many punching and landing about the same number as Abraham for Christ's sake. Hell, in every round except maybe the 12th I still think Abraham landed the cleaner more effective punches. Miranda won rounds on my card purely for punch output and Abraham's unwillingness to engage (although he can't be held at fault given a broken jaw).
Even with the point deductions (all 5), I then have Miranda winning by 1 point. That was with me trying to give Miranda rounds that were close too. THe 2 point headbutt was completely fair as was the 2nd low blow point deduction. THe first and third were uneeded... but keep in mind how many times he was told to keep em' up. In virtually every single round Miranda landed a punch or two below the belt.Comment

I think Miranda definitely dominated the last three rounds. And I think he won the majority of the last 6 rounds, but he fouled himself out of a close fight.Dan Rafael is apparently an idiot who didn't watch the fight. One sentence alone there is pure bull ****.

People who think Miranda steamrolled Abraham are crazy. People who think Miranda didn't win his share of rounds are also crazy.Comment
