Here's what Floyd Mayweather Sr said in July '05 (when he took over as Herbie's trainer):

"Herbie was knocking out heavy weights when he was a cruiserweight, now he is fighting at the weight he should have been from the beginning, I dread to think what he will do,” said Floyd Mayweather Senior.

“Remember that Rid**** Bowe said that Herbie was the hardest puncher he had ever met - Herbie was only a cruiserweight then and he was still hurting heavyweights.

“With the way I have got him catching and throwing punches it is going to be an exciting year.

“The cruiserweight division needs someone like him: a two times heavyweight champion of the world who was knocking out heavyweights.

“Herbie will bring that power, excitement and money to the division."

The 'comeback' is way late.. and I don't think Mayweather Sr is on the scene anymore.

Yeah, the second. The shot probably missed, it might have been the breeze of it passing that laid poor Herbie out.

The first time I ever watched the guy he looked as chiselled as **** and slick, really hard-hitting. Then he gets sparked by the Ethiopean guy. I mentioned it to someone at work and they're like "oh, he's always been the same."

Juice, have you got the riot at the Audley fight?

No man, I've got loads of early Herbie fights on VHS though. His '89 ABA final loss to Henry Akinwande (on the Beeb), and his second pro fight (against Sky commentator Glenn McCrory's cousin) on the same card as Eubank, Lennox, Jimmy Mac, Azumah Nelson etc in front of Don King and NBC in the States, among other fights.

Talking about Audley Harrison, does anyone have the post fight interview of his fight with Dominic Negus, that still has me laughing to this day.

That was a great night actually, Fireworks Night and you had Pimpster Hide himself along with Eubank, Lennox, Don King and a WBC title fight. Eubank in the days he was telling NBC's slut reporter "Your going to be watching the betht fighter in the world tonight!" and then gets tagged quite often by Melfah right hands and shaken up abit

Not bad technically but like many Frank Warren boxers are way over hyped and when they step up to even middle rate boxers state side the come up short, hand picked fighters for most of his career, remember Chris Oko, Pele Reid, they were exactly the same, I think Glen McCorry would have beat him.
was It Michael Bent who bit him one in a fight.
Was he not picked up for curb crawling, Perv.

Herbie wasn't a Frank Warren fighter. He was a Barry Hearn fighter.

I remember after one of his last fights Herbie saying (on the Beeb): "WHO is Danny Williams? Who is he? Who the hell is Danny Williams?" and then "Danny Williams is a *****cat, he don't want no fight." Then not long after Williams goes and knocks out Tyson
