It's very doubtful that Hatton will equal Hamed's accomplishments. And, after everything else is put aside, it's your accomplishments in boxing that should tell the story.

Trouble is this. Hamed himself is single-handedly responsible for wrecking what should have been a stellar legacy and boxing fans despise guys that don't deliver when it counts. You know, like Lennox Lewis when he'd stumble around half-asleep in the ring, but expecting the world to buy into his words about "sweet science". Despite Lewis' accomplishments, he'll be remembered as guy who ws not dedicated to his craft and got his ass handed to him because of it.

Hamed will similalrly be remembered, not only for his accomplishments, but also for being the ultimate "owned" poster boy, really. He was supposed to beat a man that he didn't, and then he never recovered from that loss. Hatton, on the other hand, likely will go out on his shield, which will go along way with fight fans when talking about greateness.

        HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

hamed fought nobodies and lost to the best fighter he ever faced.

hatton pulled off a major upset over tszyu, unified against maussa, and won his second divisional title. he did more in one or two years than that joke hamed did in his whole career.

hell, he did more in either the tszyu fight or the collazo fight than hamed did in his whole career.

Hatton had the bigger single win of the two, but overall competition it's not even close. Hamed fought A LOT better opposition. The fact that Hatton fans have to resort to calling a faded Phillips and one of the worst titleholders in history (Maussa) big wins for him says a lot. Fighting guys like Urango sure isn't going to help his legacy either...

and whos the BIG competition that hamed fought? wayne mccullough? wilfredo vasquez?

if i have to look for hamed in boxrec and i dont want to use the name search engine, the only record i can find him on is barerra's. shouldnt that tell you that hameds competition was stale at best?

forgetting about maussa and phillips, hatton beat a legendary tszyu and a tricky slick and much larger southpaw collazo. the best guy that hamed fought whipped his ass.

fighting urango might not "help his legacy" but winning another title sure does.
