People complain that boxers today aren't active enough, and it's true. It's partially the fighters fault, but a lot of it also has to do with how the fights are organized. There are basically two big networks in the USA for the big name fighters (HBO, Showtime) and they have a limited number of fights they can show in a year. There's so much work that has to be done to promote and organize such a big event. All of the fighters have to compete to get a date on whichever network they're signed to. So, that leaves some fighters wanting to fight, but having to wait most of the year to do it. Boxing needs better coverage, and then you'll see the top guys fighting more often.

I aggree. But they can also take less money and fight on spanish channels that have regular boxing as well as espn. But when i say they get less money, of course their opponet wont be as tough but still they work their craft and get better and keep their name in the newspapers.People complain that boxers today aren't active enough, and it's true. Lots of fighters today should have fought more, Margarito, Mayweather, Rocky, Taylor, and on and on. Castillo is probably the last fighter that fought regularly, before the fiasco at the weigh in. Chavez used to fight like every month just to stay busy and keep his skills sharp, we need more fighters to do this.Comment
