Thinking about becoming a professional Judge

I have a great respect and love for the sport and im considering becoming an amatuer judge then after a few years experience doing it professionally. (as a hobby of course, not as a paying full-time gig.) I read the legal requirements and their not bad just a few tests.

What I want to know is, what do you guys believe makes a Great Judge in boxing? And are any of you professional judges already?

To be a good judge you just have to score the fight how you normally would then flip your numbers around to the other fighter.

what i think makes a great boxing judge?

i think a great judge judges fights with consideration to the efforts of the fighters. realising that someone's life can be affected by poor judging. that their life can be affected in a negative way by poor judging.

also what i think makes a good judge is someone who knows the difference between effective aggressiveness verses aggressiveness. just because someone is being aggressive doesn't mean that they're winning the round.

a judge that doesn't let the crowd sway his judging of the round or fight.

a judge that counts body shots.

there are a lot more, but i can't think of any right at the moment, but i'll drop some more when i think of them............

but i say do it become a judge, i'm kicking around the same idea. only thing is finding the time between work and play...... good luck

            Wear ear plugs when judging.

haha. If you can read that then you are probably over qualified for a judge these days. Most judges need to be masters at reading brail since many of them are visualy challenged.

Deigo Fuego thinks he is the resident judge around these parts.......although I think he is one-way and blind half the time he can make good sense the other half.
