Simple question: do you believe Taylor won the titles and won/drew the defences?

Just from a discussion in another thread, I'm wondering what percentage of people believe that the two "W"s in Taylor's ledger and the "D" against Winky were legit. Simple yes or no question, really.

For myself, the only one I think was fair was Hopkins II, which saw Bernard virtually give it away to him as an early Christmas present.

Arguments can be made for the other two, but the reality is I don't believe that Taylor won the titles at the first time of asking (maybe the close decision would have led to a rematch with the same result anyway??) and I don't believe his defence against Winky was successful.

I like the guy alright, but he's as green as **** and has been very lucky IMO.


But what say YOU?

He lost to Hopkins 115-113 the first time, drew with Hopkins the second time, and lost to Wink 115-113.

And i thought the draw was legitimate. i could see the fight going winkies way, but not taylors. i scored the fight even.

And i had Taylor losing the first fight (dont remember by how much though) and winning the second fight by a round. I would listen arguments that taylor won both fights, and i would listen to arguments that hopkins won both fights

taylor lost to hopkins once, got a draw with hopkins once and lost to winky. taylor is obviously a phony hbo champ.

well imo he won 6 of the first 7 rounds vs Hopkins and it was a very close fight

the re-match was **** and the rounds were very hard 2 score, the only clear round being the 11th which taylor won

the winky fight is just a good close fight in which people have different scorecards depending on how they judge fights

Yeah, they WERE close fights, the Hopkins ones, I'll give you that. I guess the Winky one was as well, there were a lot of close rounds. (Frank Warren and Joe Blow said they thought Taylor beat Wright... I wonder if they were just flattering him to get a fight?)
