Beyer have any shot at upsetting Kessler?

beyer did look good against woodhall a 6.2 tall stand up boxer , but that was 8 years ago.

beyer was able to get into range and knock woodhall`s headback with the straight left down the pipe time and time again, using his southpaw style and legs to set up the punch.

against thysse beyer again boxed well v a tall opponent but in all honestly thysse cannot box but has a great chin.

beyer against sheika , beyer allowed sheika to come onto him and outbox him by counterpunching.

last time out is the most worrying if analysing beyer v kessler if you are a beyer fan.

bika stayed on the outside for the most part and while 6.0 bika does not box his height, crouching a little and having wide leg stance, but when he did jab , he found beyer alarmingly open , and beyers head movement was non exsistent, relying on his double arm guard.

beyers straight left was also woefull in this fight, his timing was gone and his punch was looped and arced instead of straight , meaning he never laned, i beleive because at the same time beyer was throwing it, he was looking to bend his body to his right to offset what bika would throw back and not fully committing to his own punch`s.

I have seen all kesslers fights and IMO kesslers height /size will keep beyer on the outside and to concerned what is coming at him to have a high workrate.

kessler is no danny green/eric lucas /sheika
who all take chances and make mistakes trying to land.

kessler never does this and will not need to do this in his fight with beyer IMO.

big advantage getting the fight in denmark , because it will mean kessler does not have to overly press , but can fight his normal fight.

by reasoning if a bika jab is enough to keep beyer honest then kessler who has the best jab at 168 by a long way is going to land on beyer and with beyer`s lack of head m0ovement latley , i would say land often.

kessler can dominate early with the jab, and then do his usual ploy of one the jab is established throw his jab /right cross and then his favourite combo of jab/straight right/left hook to body or head of it as he gets more on top.

what can this version of beyer do to counter act kesslers gameplan, as his saftey first nick rounds and coast rounds in his fights will not work in denmark against kessler, well i can only see a couple of options for beyer.

first he must sit down on his straight left down the pipe in this fight.

kessler uses a very wide leg stance , weight on his front left foot to generate great power in his jab, beyer must use his southpaw stance to get outside kesslers left foot lead foot and continually throw straight lefts down the pipe straight through the kessler guard, with full body torque and see what happens .

this punch is a known knockdown shot, not usually a ko shot but it scores loads of knockdowns v orthodox fighters and is the hardest shot for orthodox stand up fighters to slip as it is usually very short and they use arms and backward movement to not get hit and this punch negates this defense.

secondly can beyer use his legs to circle to his right the whole fight, come in in quick rat and tat burts and then get out again , keeping this up for 12 rounds , keeping kessler form setting his punches and get him frustrated.

i do not think beyer has the stamina for the hit and run tatic anymore as he takes way to many rounds off having a breather to lead me to beleive he can adopt this stratergy for 12 rounds.

can he hurt kessler with the straight left down the pipe, the only punch i can see him being able to do so, i doubt it, beyers timning with the punch was way of v bika.

i expect kessler to establish the jab and then as the rounds go on hurt beyer a few times , then start to let his other punches go , cutting and marking beyer up, and beleive beyers corner will pull him from the fight around round 8 to save him from further punishment.

my pick kessler wins by retirement after 8.

The only way I see Beyer winning is by a lucky punch. Beyer was a good fighter in his prime, but he is shot IMO and will get totally dominated by Kessler.

My guess is Kessler TKO 8 after a beating.

Woodhall was suffering from a lot of ring rust and only had four weeks to prepare for Beyer, otherwise Richie would of beaten him for sure.

Anyway, I've not seen this Kessler guy so I can't say.
