Why does anyone care about what The Ring magazine says about who is the figter of the year?

I haven't known any of their recent rankings to coincide closely with what really happens in the business.

Being around long enough does not constitute a right to be the voice of authority.

They plaster themselves as experts in boxing when there's really no such thing. You try to predict what's going to happen in this business with any degree of consistency and you'll eventually look a fool.

Maybe you should have more faith in your opinion and understanding of the game.

If you've seen the same fights as someone else, what do they see that you don't that seperates them from you or makes your opinion superior?
