Warren offered Maskaev-Skelton - rejects offer

Just read (via the publication Boxing News) that Frank Warren said in his newspaper column he was offered "derisory" money for Matt Skelton to fight Oleg Maskaev. As a result he turned it down.

I don't know where Warren goes with Skelton. He's got a fighter that wants a world title shot, but I don't think he can win one, even in the current division. Skelton has a good chin and is quite nimble for a big man, but his power isn't good enough for the top level IMO. There's always the possibility he could outbox someone like Valuev on the back foot, but it's only a possibility.

That's the reason I was hoping Danny Williams would win the rematch.

He has the power to turn a fight around with any heavyweight (If he chooses to use it) even though the chances are slim of that to.

Agreed. He can arguably hit harder than any current titlist (I said arguably!!) so that would be interesting, if little else...
