Calzaghe: Is Lacy crazy?

WBO/IBF super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe fears he could be arrested if Jeff Lacy gets his wish of a rematch. "Is this guy crazy or is he still concussed?," asked Calzaghe, who is currently preparing to defend his titles against Sakio Bika at the M.E.N Arena on October 14th. "I can give Lacy 1006 good reasons why he should not get a rematch against me -- because that's the number of times I landed with punches on the night and I can count the number of times he caught me on one hand - four. Lacy will never be the same fighter again after the one-sided beating I gave him and how can he call for a rematch when the first fight wasn't even close or controversial, the only controversy is why his corner didn't pull him out of the fight sooner. If Lacy gets in the ring with me again I'm scared I will get arrested for aggravated assault! Anyway, it's his buddies in Florida that I'm gunning for Winky Wright and Antonio Tarver who are both on the run from me, the only way I'll get them in the ring is if a bounty hunter manages to catch 'em!"

I havent heard of Lacy wanting a rematch, but honestly think he could be alot more competitive in a rematch.
That being said, Calzaghe is fighting Sakio Bika, so he is contridicting himself.

I think he should give him a rematch...Taylor did hold a title so I think he deserves the right to have a 2nd go at it...Even though Joe kicked his ass and no rematch is really needed, why not show respect to a now former champion and give him one more shot to "close the books"...I don't like how fighters just fight for the title and don't give the guy who lost his title another shot...everybody has bad nights, and it gives the guy a 2nd opportunity to show what he is made of...they say that a true champion overcomes adversity, so why not give him the shot.

Ordinarily I'd agree, if the first one wasn't as one-sided as it was. I seriously fear what another beating like that would do for Lacy. And I dread to think how they would market it!

Maybe at some point in the future if they were both younger but I suspect Calzaghe's only got another 3 or 4 fights in him.
