Mind you, Lacy has got a good chin, taking 1006 punches in 12 rounds and only getting knocked down once.

          good one joe!!

but even as a Lacy fan, you have to assume that Jeff would have a mountain to climb if a rematch were ever down the road

True, Calzaghe was the better man that night. A determined Lacy could and should give him a run for his money. Overconfidence will kill Calzaghe if he's not carefull. But what a whuppin he put on lacy last time

"If Lacy gets in the ring with me again I'm scared I will get arrested for aggravated assault!"
"Anyway, it's his buddies in Florida that I'm gunning for Winky Wright and Antonio Tarver who are both on the run from me, the only way I'll get them in the ring is if a bounty hunter manages to catch 'em!"

If Lacy had done his job properly Calzaghe would have had a much tougher fight. It is not clear to me what the outcome would have been if Lacy has made an effort to chop-off Calzaghe's 33 year old legs. Lacy knew or should have known that his usual headhunting style would fail against Calzaghe's superior skills. A body attack was his only chance.

It really makes me laugh when Lacy's promoter, manager and trainer all get up in public a claim they were surprised by the outcome. They are either cynical or totally ******. But then Duva claimed he was surprsied when Wladimir Klitschko gave Sam Peter a boxing lesson. Cynicism and/or ******ity is quite common in boxing.

I don't think he has any American in him. That is a terrible slur on his good name. He's got a bit of wop in him, but definitely no yank.
