Tyson Vs. Douglas, The real robbery !

instead of responding to the thread currently up asking if douglas completely legit victory over tyson was a robbery i thought i should point out an interesting fact.

the judges were going to rob james buster douglas if the fight were to go the distance, there is no doubt about it, clearly they were paid off in advance and were going to award a tyson victory come hell or high water.

those of you who have seen the fight more than once will agree that of the first 9 rounds Douglas won 7 of them. Tyson of course won the 8th round in which he scored a knockdown and im being ******* by saying he got one more, but ill give him that.

to me it was an easy fight to score. douglas was landing not only harder but more often and doing it consistently round after round. (i scored the round tyson score the KD as 10-9 and i think that is proper)

by my account the scoring enterting the 10th round the score was 88-83 in favor of james douglas. to give tyson two rounds outside of the KD round would be stretching reality a great deal, even so, at that point the score would be 87-84 in favor of james douglas.

however examining the judges scorecards that night reveals that something fishy was up. judge larry rosadilla had the fight pegged and scored at 88-82 douglas.

amazingly the other two judges saw it differently.

Judge Ken Morita had Tyson WINNING 87-86 going into the 10th and judge masakazu ushida had it scored EVEN at 86-86

to me this is utterly inexplicable, there is no way on heaven or hell tyson was winning that fight and there was no way anyone could possibly interpret what was happening in the ring as tyson winning the fight. even somebody sitting 100 yards away would have known tyson was getting his ass whooped..

why do you think don king went nuts? the judges were paid, they probably always were. all tyson had to do was stand up for the final bell and he would have been gift wrapped the greatest robbery in the history of the sport. its a wonderful thing that it didnt happen because it would have destroyed the credibility of the sport to have such a heroic performance by douglas go to waste.

happens all the time. but they werent payed off. no need to pay of the judges when ur sure tyson will win by KO, which everyone was.

they just want more jobs like that, so they give the decision to favorite

Larry Rozadilla was the only one who had it right.

      R.I.P. Larry.

Ken Morita is the worst judge ever. Check his history...it's disgusting.

Mijares-Navarro rings a bell. I thinks Mijares was up 9-3 and 8-4, and Navarro had a shut-out on the other card!

Yeah that came to mind for me, id just like to believe that he the judge had the fighters mixed up.

At least Navarro didn't get the W, that would have been a legendary robbery

That wasn't the only time that happened to Navarro. He went over to fight in Japan and he was up 120-109 on one card and lost the fight because the other judges scored it 114-113 x2 I believe.
