Why dont more people think hopkins should stay retired????

Hes just went out on probably the highest note in boxing history, achieving something his hero wasnt able to do.

He was adimant about his retirement and i think he should stick to it. I could understand a couple diehard fans wanting him to come back, but i didnt expect EVERYONE to want him to come back

a heavyweight fight against maskaev could be disatrous. He could lose or get KOed on one big punch. Lots of things could happen that could destroy that high note. and beating maskaev isnt that big a deal, and would still ruin the high note win agaisnt tarver...

I personally do but I think other people are worse off.......Holyfield and even Roy should also retire.I mean at least Hopkins can still really compete with the best out there.

Bernard Hopkins is my favorite fighter of all time, I got B-Hop, Pryor, Julian Jackson as my all time favs.

that being said, as much as i would like Hopkins to fight, I would like him to stay retired.

1: it shows he is a man of his word, staying retired.
2: he really doesn't have anything to prove
3: there is a risk of him tainting what is a awesome story book ending of his career

but there are reason why i'd like to see him fight

1: i've always like and admired his style, his style is far from flashy, but his style is all about business and winning inside the ring
2: his defense is jaw dropping, in my opinion, just like J.Toney
3: i think he can beat Maskaev, style wise and endurance wise he has Oleg beat hands down.
but there is the chance that he could get caught with a big punch by Oleg, but I highly doubt it.
4: a win over Maskaev isnt all that impressive, but capturing a Heavyweight belt coming out retirement when you fought your whole career as a middleweight then finished your career as a Light Heavyweight with a dominant performance over the best Light Heavyweight in the division.
that would put Hopkins amoung the very exclusive and very elite in boxing history. and that would be awesome to see.

my thing is, I wold really admire Hopkins MORE if he stayed retired. that shows restraint, shows character, discipline, and more so it shows respect for himself to stand by his word.

I support Hopkins in whatever he chooses, but for me him staying retired would be a good move.

I remember back when he was 39 he said he promised him Mother who had passed he would not fight past 40.....he strung that all the way out until right before or after can't remember he turned 41......He should keep his promise to that special person. He already has made it and proven he is an all time great.

**** the move to HW, absolutely **** it!

Is there a boxing fan in the world that would rather watch Oleg Makeav and Bernard hopkins get it on over a potential REAL SUPERFIGHT between Joe Calzaghe and Bernard Hopkins?

What the ****...him and Roy are gonna walk around when there a couple of old ****s bragging about wins over Johnny Reeez and Oleg MAskeav...**** that.

Fight Joe you 10 punch per round *****! (Or go after Wlad Klitchko/Sam Peter ****head!)
