It was awesome. Me and Boxingscene.com's resident gangsta Jefe de Jefe's were chilling to the maximum at Don King's press conference to announce the Shannon Briggs-Sergei Lyakhovich fight on November 4.

Yo, lemme just start off by saying that Don King knows how to promote a fight. His press conference was a show in itself. He had a video montage of his contributions to the heayweight division, loud music, and was making fun of a few members of the press. I can't wait until he shows the same disdain for me
Anyways, I never noticed how much he talks like Mike Tyson. The big words thrown about in a gawdy manner was amusing, and so was the obsession with Ronald Reagan's famous Berlin Wall speech. Don't know what the relativity that was to his message, but it's his show. He also talked alot about his love for Texas and the president, George Walker Bush. It's funny because I was recently reading about how Bush was instrumental in the FBI seizure and investigation of King's numero uno nemesis Top Rank. What a coinkeedink, huh?
First things first, I was chilling outside of Manhattan's fabulous Gallagher's Steakhouse wondering how many dishes and toilets would I have to clean to afford one steak there. Then I saw fellow Boxingscene.com writer Tim Smith, who is about 3 times my size. I talked with him and Broadway Boxing commentator Brian Adams about the Juarez-Barrera card and it was a cool time. Then I got in my interview with the always fun Shannon Briggs.

After that, time to go inside and assault the dessert trays. I then got in my interview with Sergei Lyakhovich, who is a very humble guy. The coolest was when Juan Diaz showed up, he's one of my favorite fighters. He's a nice guy, we did a nice interview. I had to rush cuz Don King was calling him up to the podium for the presser.
Don can talk. Don talked for 2 hrs straight, he can talk. He's a cool guy, really funny. After the presser, I talked with Muhammad Ali biographer Thomas Hauser, who complimented me on my "What to Make of Quitting" article. Aww shucks!!!
Then the editor of a popular NYC based website offered me a paying position as a writer/cameraman for his site, stating that "You only don't get paid in the Golden Gloves. This is the professionals." I told him I'm Boxingscene.com, BS till I die.

I also talked with Luis Collazo and Al Ice Cole. Collazo was mad cool, very cool doo. Al Cole was also cool. We talked about how most writers don't know **** cuz they never were boxers. He gave me props cuz I was a boxer and then went into writing.
Me and Gerardo took mad pics with famous people, I can't wait till he uploads them. Among the pics we got was with Don King, Luis Collazo, Juan Diaz, Shannon Briggs, Sergei Lyakhovich, Al Cole, and I don't even remember. It was a ton of fun, as are all pressers really.
