The contender fighters are darn good...in contrast to last year, the show is full of good, veteran fighters, some of who have tangled with today's pound-4-pounders, for example: Grady Brewer has taken Jermain Taylor the distance and Michael Stewart has gone toe to toe with Ricky Hatton. Ebo Elder has knocked out Courtney Burton.
My only qualm with the quality of this cast is that there are hardly any fighters with upside, i.e. the Sergio Mora's and Peter Manfredo's who we can look at as possible future P4P candidates. The current cast is either on the last legs of their careers or at the crossroads. But don't get me wrong, these are good, good fighters who IMHO are P4P better fighters at this point in time than last years cast, but I'd prefer a better balance of grizzled veterans and up-and-comers who can point to their Contender exposure as a step-stool to professional stardom.
Cheers to Grady Brewer for winning last night. His hometown is where I am currently stationed at (military), and it's a very small mid-western town in which I hope his success can put Lawton, OK on the map. BTW his wife, who works in our base hospital, is sizzling hot. Poor girl, I can't imagine the attention she's going to be swamped with when she get's back to work, especially from all the horomone-driven military dudes and star struck small town residents here. Ahhh, she seems like the extrovert type, she'd probably bask in all that attention
Yea.. I don't know how one judge had it 49-46 for Grady i think it was? Even with the knockdown. That fight was very close. I bet that judge was a female.

i thought that fight was extremely close, for some reason i thought it'd be bravo - forbes as the final match. all these guys are good fighters, i checked out most of their records on boxrec - all have fought top level competition. it's hard to beat the elite guys when u work in factory for 12 hours a day to feed your kids and only have an hour or two to train each night.
the contender fighters are just that a bunch contenders and stepping stones.
their not even contenders...arturo gatti is a contender..emmauel augustus is a contender...these guys are the guys that you would place your hot propspect in the ring against in his 10th pro fight
considering the best two to come out of the show have done absolutely nothing in boxing, I'd say they pretty much are bums aside from 2-3 out of every cast

True.
Brewers level of comp is insane.
Hes fought Jermain Taylor, Kelly Pavlick, Sechew Powell (in a fight where he dropped Powell and most thought he was robbed), Peter Manfredo and Marco Antionio Rubio.
Brewer has an awkward style and has actually done well with it. He is no bum and he would kick your ass. He got robbed vs Sechew Powell, and anyone who's seen that fight knows this for damn sure.
Forbes is a former champ and a skilled fighter. But he will have his hands full with Grady.
