On Friday, September 22, the Atlantic City City Council will hold an official "Street Naming Ceremony" in honor of fallen IBF world lightweight champion Leavander Johnson, who passed away last year due to injuries sustained in a boxing match while defending his IBF championship belt. This event commemorates the one-year anniversary of Johnson's death. Also included in the ceremony will be the unveiling of a plaque and the renaming of the 3rd Floor Gym, which Johnson trained in. Both events will be held together at the Police Athletic League Building in Atlantic City, NJ at noon.
