    Juarez penalized?

    30 and 7 day weigh-ins?
I just read that Juarez is being penalized by the wbc for not weighing in at the 30 and 7 day marks. I've never heard of this. You have to weigh in 30 and 7 days before a fight? I knew you had to make fight the day before a fight but I've never heard of this. What are they talking about and why isn't Barrara being penalized who didn't weigh in either?

    What are you talking about?

Are you sure it wasn't a blood test 30 days prior to the fight?
they usually have you tested for diseases

never mind, I just found and read the report

Maybe the rule is to prevent fights from being canceled, like the Castillo vs Chico fight.

You still shouldn't be able to take the guys money if that is the case...I would cancel just to be a ***** if they try to put their hands on my money...it is not like that money is going to go to some charity, it will probably go to the head organization people for some ******* and some hookers.

The World Boxing Council has updated their previous announcement in regards to fighters missing mandatory weigh-ins 30 and 7 days before their fights Saturday night. Now the word is the only boxer to be penalized for non-compliance of WBC regulations will be Rocky Juarez. "Juarez was the only one to violate our rules regarding weight control but not because we made mistakes in our communications, as he had already been informed. The WBC has been always very careful and respectful towards the promotions staged by Oscar De la Hoya, world champion and head of Golden Boy Promotions," read a WBC statement.

If the WBC is changing weigh-ins...ie

            you must weigh 135 for a 135 - 30days before a fight and 135 days for a 135lb fight

Its going effect a lot of things, outcomes, betting, performace.

They do not require you to weigh in at the official weight. You weigh in and have to be at a certain point. I'm not sure what the specifics are, but it's probably close to the following:

30 days out - no more than 145 pounds
7 days out - no more than 137 pounds
1 day out - 130 pounds (official weigh in).

This is done for the fighters safety and to prevent a fight from being cancelled due to weight. The way they see it, if you loose too much weight in too short a time frame, you are more prone to brain damage.

I think if he makes weight he should not be penalized, but he knows the rules also

You didn't get the whole story buddy.

I've read it from another website that the four fighters MAB, Juarez and two others will ALL be penalized for that infraction.
