Agreed, although it does make sense to take the 60/40 split & when he wins he can make the same offer to Taylor, but I think it should be the same split as the first fight. -
Since when does the challenger make a 45/55 split? It's not like Winky is a big draw or anything so it makes no sense. Taylor is champ and makes the split considering he is already a bigger draw than Wright.Comment

Taylor may be the bigger draw, but not by a large margin--we're not talking DLH or Tito drawing power. The ten percent discrepency makes up for Taylor being champ and being the slightly bigger draw.
55-45 is fair especially since they fought to a draw in the first fight when the split was the same.Comment

It was reported by John C. Cotey of the St. Petersburg Times, that middleweight Winky Wright will not sign the contract for a Dec 2. pay-per-view rematch with midldweight champion Jermain Taylor, unless he gets a deal that feels (W)right.
Boxing sites everywhere need to make an agreement to stop using that play on words.
It's just not Wright.

Yawn.
More **** from Winky.
The first fight was 55-45, and it was a draw.
Now, Taylor offeres Winky a rematch, and Wright complains about money?
Give me a break.
Remember that this fight will have a bigger purse then the last fight.
If Winky turns this down he would be turning down the biggest payday of his career.Comment

At the 60-40 split, Winky is making far more then he made last fight.Comment

hey, winky had his shot at the title. He didnt capitalize on it, end of story. In a business where most never even get a title shot, and the ones that do usually only get that one chance. He should be happy to get another. He should also be happy with 60-40. He got a good deal in the first match and now he wants the same, but if he wasnt good enough to beat taylor in the first fight why do you think that he deserves the same pay in this one.
My biggest point is he had a chance that most fighters only dream about. A chance to be the champ and he couldnt do it. He should be grateful with the offer being presented to him.Comment

Winky is Just as big as a DRAW as JT or even bigger..... JT hasnt really proven he can win... "ALL" his big fights were really QUESTIONABLE..... PEOPLE have him LOSING all three.... WINKY has fought the top fighters out there.... So dont use that ****ty excuse that winky is not a big draw.... They both need each other... 45/55 is perfectly fair...Originally posted by DiegoFuegoSince when does the challenger make a 45/55 split? IMO i think JT is a ***** and doesnt want to fight him again, if he is giving him 40/60 split.Comment
