    f-news: Maskaev wants to fight Peter Okhello (WTF?)

    from F-news

    Buzz: Klitschko, Maskaev....

    By Karl Freitag
    A September 19 press conference is being planned to officially announce the November 11 clash between IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and unbeaten Calvin Brock at Madison Square Garden.

    ==

    It looks like WBC heavyweight champion Oleg Maskaev is eyeing Peter Okhello as his first defense later this year in Moscow.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    I hope this is BS. Otherwise, I will lose much of the respect I have for Maskaev.

        If he wants to fight a bum, why not rematch Goofi or McCall?

            Oh yeah, absolutely!

            This is my favorite one "McCall/Lewis - This fight was stopped at 0:55 as McCall refused to fight back, while apparently crying."

              McCall is 41. Rematching Maskaev and beating him wouldn't exactly be a fight I'd be happy to see.

                he should fight mcall again considering he only had 7 fights when they ridiculously matched him over his head at that point in his career

                  peter okhello? are you KIDDING me?!

                  looking at the guys record, hes 18-4 with 16 KOs, so its not a terrible record. but the only noteworthy guy hes faced is sinan samil sam, he actually dropped sam in the 12th (i think the only KD of sam's career). and considering how hard sam's chin is, thats an impressive accomplishment in my book.

                  but come the **** on, who am i kidding? of all people in the HW division, maskaev wants to put his newly won title on the line against peter okhello?

                  maskaev could have the best reason/excuse in the world and it wont make this match any better. this news better be bull****.
