    Tommy Zbikowski: Football or Boxing?

For the record, this is just an innocent post looking to get some feedback from boxing followers, if you don't care about the topic, that's all right, just don't crucify me. Honestly, I put this post up because not too many of my friends follow boxing (sad, but 'tis true), so I just wanted to know what other people might think about the following topic.

With everyone well aware of the fact that successful American heavyweights are becoming extinct and that the heavyweight landscape is being dominated by talent from foreign soil, what would you rather see Notre Dame safety and American heavyweight boxer Tom Zbikowski do following his senior season at South Bend, after witnessing the kid showcase some skills in his complete annhilation of fellow heavyweigh Robert Bell at MSG (who we will agree to disagree wasn't paid to step into the ring to be Z's punching bag).

    Would you rather him:
    A) Enter the Draft and play in the NFL.
    Or...
    B) Become a professional heavyweight boxer, hopefully successfully representing the USA.

Ultimately, odds are he will join the NFL, just like a handful of potential heavyweight talents that are playing football for a living as opposed to professionally boxing (most notably Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, known to not only be one bad dude on the gridiron, but in the ring as well).

So that being said, let me know what you think. Here's the fight in case you never got a chance to see it over the summer.

He needs to play football. He's an early round draft pick there. He has one pro fight against a guy who had only two fights since 2003, both knockout losses.

Tommy Z has a better shot at a high level success in football.

Also remember he lost 15 amateur fights...

I follow ND pretty closely. I would rather see him in the NFL. heavyweights that small better be able to fight, and he has no amateur background at the international elite level. He is a big time football player though.

I honestly think that anybody from the Notre Dame Football Team could have beat the guy he fought. That guy was a joke. All it takes to beat that guy is being able to throw punches and be somewhat strong. That guy was a complete bum and very carefully handpicked for that fight.

          Stick to football.

I'd have to agree with yall, the hits he puts out on the field as opposed to in the ring will get him much further in his athletic career.
