Legendary Puerto Rican Hector 'Macho' Camacho is being groomed to fight in the Philippines sometime in November as part of a made-for-tv reality show that will cover his last three fights.
Camacho, who is now trained by long-time Cebu resident Tony Martin in Las Vegas, will take on a Filipino opponent in one of the three fights.
World-class Filipino promoter Sammy Gello-ani of the ALA group is reportedly doing the promotional aspect of the planned event, according to a source from Las Vegas.
"Hector is really training hard with me, and slowly but surely he is starting to look sharp," reported Tony Martin in an e-mail to this writer.
Camacho (78-5-2, 37 KO's, according to Martin, will be fighting in the 154-lb division.
