Why did Barrera rematch Rocky so fast and not Manny?

Me either. After what have been said and done about that rematch it already lost it's supposed to be luster. It has been taken over by recent events that I wanted to see Pacquiao fight Juarez, Barrios, Valero, Joan Guzman and if possible JMM. -
with manny he lose no question, but he has a victory over juarez who many people question if there was faul play.Originally posted by $Manny_P$Because Rocky is Mexican and Pac is not. Barrera would rather lose to a Mexican so it becomes kind of "passing of torch" in case he loses to Juarez. I don't think he'll lose the rematch though.Comment

Yeah I was just questioning it really. I also don't want to see this rematch really. To me there is nothing to prove. Whenever Manny talks in interviews about rematching Barrera, it just sounds so bizarre since he has absolutely no reason to do that. I on the other hand as a Barrera fan as well, would like to see him take it to try to do something to sorta vindicate the loss. Of course as more a Manny fan, I'd hope in the end he comes out victorious. I'd also love Manny to face the other guys mentioned in the 130lbs over Barrera because excitement wise, nothing gets better than those matchups.Comment

Originally posted by ELPacmanPerhaps it's because Barrera does indeed believe he can beat Rocky more convincing? Or is it because he knows Manny has his number and it's not worth it to go in for another beating? There was talk after the Rocky fight that Barrera wasn't 100% and that the mouthpiece really gave him troubles throughout the entire fight. I guess Marco really believes these reasons and is why he took the rematch so fast without question. This makes me question though if he really ever wants to rematch Manny when all he ever did if you think about it was lay down excuses of why he lost to Manny though never took or attempted a rematch.
....or, maybe it's because he's a proud champion and wants to take care of business first, which is silencing the criticism raised off of his last fight.

Don't try questioning Barrera heart. He got tko'd by Jones and took the rematch right away. Pacquiao has been doing his thing, getting a draw and losing, then winning again. So no need to doubt Barrera heart which is what is seems you are implying. Barrera fighting Juarez is more dangerous then fighting Pacqiao again, he loses this he retires, his camp with Rocky will have no interferance, unlike his fight with pacquiao where their was fires and the contraversy with the plate in his head.Comment

There were alot of distractions but Barrera hasn't really done much to try and secure a rematch with Pacquiao. He's called him out a few times but nothing serious.Originally posted by ferocityDon't try questioning Barrera heart. He got tko'd by Jones and took the rematch right away. Both have had their schedules full, so its not like they were in their house watching tv and talking trash. They've been doing their thing, Barrera has been fighting regularly so can't say nothing serious.Comment
