I lost my password recently so I havent been on here for awhile so I dont know if you have talked about this but I thought his D was awesome, e****ally early.
I think the Showtime's dude name is Steve Farhood and I rememeber him in the mid rounds saying that Toney hasnt really used the shoulder roll tonight but I thought he was way off on that. I thought he used it alot and was great at it.
I didnt know how Toney would do against a big hard punching guy like him but it became clear very early that Peter could not hit him with a clean shot because Toney was turning sideways & rolling his shoulder. You could tell Peter was so frustrated and you could tell that he was thinking very early that "damn, Toney is good and this D is hard to do things against. It wont be easy like I thought". He never thought that Toney could stand right in front of him and be so hard to hit cleanly.
It was awesome because you could tell that Peter was trying to figure out ways to hit him even though Toney was right infront of him. He rolled his shoulders all the time and Peter's punch would barley hit him if it hit him at all.
With all that being said, Toney's D looked better then it really was due to the fact that Peter has no left hand. Did anyone notice that? I think thats why Toney jumped on this fight. He knew from watching tape that all he had to do was stand sideways and roll his shoulder because Peter never throws his left and has no confidence in it. It was impossible for Peter to hit Toney with a right the way James was standing but it was a 100% easy to hit him with a left hook because his face was right there but Peter has no left hand at all. all he does is throw the right. Thats probally how he knocked Williams out because he was surprised that he threw a left.
How can so many fighters just throw one hand over and over again? Arent these guys pro's? It made me mad in the JMM fight when Pac just through the left all night and it was like that was the only thing he knew how to do.
