Greed that contributes to constricting boxing.

So much money could be made if these networks/promoters/managers/fighters could get on a common ground and market the sport better. PPV cards could be sold on DVD, like DLH vs. Mayorga for example. "Dangerzone" the dvd for like $30 could contain all the buildup/interviews leading up to the mainevent, along with additional training footage, undercards, etc. They could market this sport similarly to the way UFC and WWE do it, even moreso, because they could also put critical and outstanding bouts on compilation dvd's. The **** would be amazing and entertaining for fans and newcomers to the sport, and extremely profitable for all those involved. Greedy bastards.

they are soooo greedy, that they wont make more money from DVD's? i dont get it...

but i do agree that there is alot of money to be made in DVD's and better marketing of the sport.

"you gotta spend money to earn money" but most promoters dont believe in this. they wont spend anything thats already in their own pockets to better the sport, and take the risk of losing that money. but i bet if they DO spend the money, they will gain more back

Its down to a lack of imagination, and everyone in the sport tryna cover their ass financially, for the short term.

Boxing isnt a massive sport. In this country most people only get up for the so-called "big" fights, but may neglect to watch a lesser known opponent, who would put on an equally good show. So they'd watch Tyson and leave out Mayweather for instance. (Mayweather isnt massively known here).

But yeah blame it on the greedy Don King's of this sport, as to why we dont see Boxing at the top of the popularity poll's.

Btw good idea on the DVD's. I would buy them for sure.

Every person involved would want too big of a cut from the profits of the dvd's sold, that something like that would not be able to be done.

Good post! I agree with you 100%. Most boxing DVD's on eBay are bootleg copies, I will love to see some good original **** on DVD's.

Now that a great ideo! I would defently buy the dvds. I wanted to get a Showtime DVD of the Corrales v. Castillo, but they only made one of Corrales v. Freitas and for that Showtime lost out BIGTIME, basterds!

Before the UFC, i remeber the WWF used to have a bunch of their Wrestlemania on Casstte at the Video stores.

How many boxing DVDs get made?

We don't get that many over here, usually it's just "name" fighters, on rare occasions, so you get the bizarre situation where you get DVDs of **** fighters in **** fights... Frank Bruno vs. Joe Bugner, anybody?

I'm talking about legit, top notch quality product. I'm not complaining for one, and you "never buy boxing dvd" because they arent available for purchase.
