I do rememeber RJJJ saying James Toney was his hardest oppenent just because he was so hard to hit.
No matter what Toney says Roy Jones will always own him

After Toney lost to Roy Jones, Toney just went downhill and started gaining weight and losing fights. In a interview, Toney felt that to redeem himself, he felt he had to fight Roy Jones again. But the fight never happened due to each fighter fighting at different weight classes and Toney appeared declining at that time, while Roy was at his prime in the late 90's and early 2000's. Toney badmouthed Roy to get the rematch but never happened. Right now, I think they have no bad blood with one another. At the Toney- Ruiz fight, Toney even gave Roy a dap before the fight.Comment

If you have the Toney Ruiz fight, you can see in the begining Toney crosses the ring to come over and pay respect to RJJ. He leans between the ropes and touches em up with Roy.
I think that despite what Toney will say from time to time, he respects Roy, and vice versa.Comment

I laugh at anyone who thinks Toney has a good chance with any version of Jones before the age of 35. Shame on you. You forgot the age-old wisdom that styles make fights. Doesn't matter what shape Toney comes in.Comment

There's always a chance that Toney gets a ko off one punch like Tarver did but other then that Jones just has the style to beat James on any day.

Toney is not the same type of fighter that Tarver and Johnston are . Toney is a pure counter puncher the others are boxer punchers. Toney does not have the hand speed or size that Tarver has to hold Jones on the ropes and beat him to the punch. Toney does not have the style or stamina to slug away round after round like Johston did . In no way has anything changedOriginally posted by RAESAADI think if they fought today and lets say Toney could get to 200 and they fought at like CW......Toney would KO his ass.Comment

I know but I think after seeing RJJ get KOed twice and fighting at HW for the past couple years Toney may be more aggressive with him than he normally would......I mean he would be trying to avange a loss and he has taken good punches from some HWs so he should have very little fear of Roy......I think RJJ would either dance to a UD or get caught by a more aggressive than usual Toney....Thats just my opinion on it.Originally posted by THE REAL NINJAToney is not the same type of fighter that Tarver and Johnston are .
