Some rappers might be clowns, but as a fighter if their music hypes you up & get you ready for war then that's fine with me. How's Ali G gonna hype him up, by walking next to him telling him good luck with wrapping those presents.

Who knows, maybe laughter pisses him off.

If a fighter needs a hype up to get ready for war, then he is in for a beating. Prefessional fighters (esp. good ones) dont need a hype up, they are getting psychologically ready when they train and study their foes. If they dont get ready, no amount of gangsta rap will help them when they will get knocked. Rappers there are for a show and publicity stunt

He should just come out to "Why can't we be friends"

Of course any fighter good or bad knows what he's going into the ring to do, but music(especially underground rap for me, not that commercial crap) gets your adrenaline going, why do you think they have a boom-box going during training, music has a very profound effect on most people. You're probably right it's mostly just for show, but if you want to put your favorite rapper spitting some hardcore **** next to you while you walking to the ring, it can't hurt. I honestly think you just don't like rap, which is understandable but you shouldn't judge a genre of music by the commercial & gangsta rap, cause if you look deeper you find some very great music.

Loud music was a no no down at Gleason's.
