    Thats why people hate.

If UFC boys just shut the **** up and respected other disciplines of the whole fight game then I wouldnt give a **** what UFC does. However when I get some little looser saying some shamrock d00de will knock out both Ali and Tyson on the same night I cant help but hate.
lol surfer boy crowd? Most UFC fans i know are also boxing fans...Im not saying that theyre all like that but I never really thought that the UFC fanbase consisted of surfer boys hahah.

Like has been discussed before, surfer boys and people like the guys on jackass. Except you cant hate on Steve-O.

But hey its not only the white kids falling into the UFC trap. My buddies younger brother, 16 year old kid took up kick boxing because of UFC and thats all he watches. And hes black so...

      Its getting at everybody.

I don't really care much about the ufc thread but I understand why it's there. The main guy at UFC finds a way to compare UFC to boxing every chance he gets. He talks about how better it is and how UFC is taking over as a contact sport. Just look at the video available at Boxingscene on the UFC press conference. The guy is talking about how upsetting PPV boxing fights are and how they don't live up to the hype.

          Better idea is....

Quit the UFC hype bull****. It's nowhere near as impressive as PRIDE, and it only sells here in the States compared.

They show kids beating eachother up for free, and then put the kid against their best kid at the end ala Ultimate Fighter.

I'm tired of everyone thinking UFC is solely representative of Mixed Martial Arts.

I didn't try to assert that UFC = MMA. I know Pride is better and have watched Pride for a long time now. However, I think Dana White and UFC are better for MMA in general than Arum/King and the alphabet belts are for boxing.

I also think that UFC's success has and will open doors for Pride. UFC educated an untapped fan base that was not interested in today's boxing scene. They laid the ground work and these better educated fans will see the difference between UFC and Pride.

However UFC gotta get respect for setting MMA off on a good course here in the US and building up MMA.

UFC is really just a flawor of the month, like karate was in 70s and wrestling in 80s and 90s.

I really dont see why the two sports (MMA and Boxing) cant just coexist...I just look at them as both combat sports but two seperate types. Just like Basketball and Football are both team sports but different types of team sports. Those two sports(BBall and Football) have both been hot for years, i think that boxing and MMA can do the same.Ok so a lot of MMA cats are down talking boxing but i dont think anyone of them ever said that it was a better sport just that its handled better. Now the fans are a different story because most of them like to get really offensive and wont just look at it as two seperate sports that can and will coexist imo.

i know, im just not intrested in that. im not trying to say that they arent talented/skilled.

i'm one of those few that doesn't have a problem respecting both, while of course not placing them in the same category together as they are completely different

You will see how skillfully they attempt submissions on each other, counter, reverse and transition.

It really is exciting for those who are a bit more knowledgable with MMA and particular ground fighting.

But in general try and watch some Pride Events which should spark some interest with you as it tends to be a bit more standup and strike than the UFC.
exactly, im not denying that all these sports require alot more skill that can only b seen to the trained eye, but none of it relly intrests me.

and yea, i havent seen that much pride, but it looks alright, maybe ill start watching more.
