Im sure by now all of you have read Oscar say this:
"Cause one thing that Mayweather’s saying about Margarito is “Who have you fought? Why do you deserve this?” You know, I can say the same thing about Mayweather! Who have YOU fought and why do you deserve to fight me? You’ve done what, 350,000 pay-per-view buys? 400, tops?? I’ve done a million-four with (Felix) Trinidad so why should you fight me?"
--------------------------------------------------------------
He is ****** for saying that because Floyd is regarded as the #1 fighter in the world, which Oscar isnt, Floyd is a undefeated Champ, which Oscar isnt, Oscar is on a different level then everyone about money but other then him Floyd is close to nearly everyone and better then 90% of the guys.
Whatever money Oscar has done with Tito is nothing compared to what he will do with Floyd. It could be the biggest money fight in history. Please dont say that you cant compare Floyd to Oscar because if you ask pretty much anyone who is the better fighter, they will all say Floyd. Even the experts admit that. Even guys like Manny Steward says that Oscar needs Floyd because he still has never had that one big win where he has looked dominant. Every great fighter has that but him. The only thing Oscar has even close is a win over a shot Vargas.
Please dont act like Floyd is some scrub who has never fougth anyone because that is foolish. I think Oscar is trying to be slick and drive up the price. He is already planting the seed to try to pimp Floyd. If I was Floyd I would just move on & say **** it. Its hard to do though because you know you could have 1 fight that will pay you more then 3 regular fights.
If you think Floyd is being ripped now. Let Oscar come back and not fight Floyd. The media would kill him (atleast the one's who arent 100% Floyd haters). You know as well as I do that if he tries to bring back Tito & retire on that then everyone would kill him. Who wants to see that fight after both just got killed by Hopkins, both came back with a self made guy in Mayorga, and Tito then got destroyed by Winky. Everyone would rip that fight.
Oscar would not go down in history with a great name. Dont forget that he lost to Tito, lost twice to Shane, got KO by Hopkins, most thought he lost to Sturm, most thought he lost to Quartey, and most thought he lost to Sweet Pea. His legacy is not secure. Its not much different then Tito's. Tito probally has the better legacy. Oscar can retire now but it wont be on top. He can fight Tito & retire with a win over a guy who shouldnt even be fighting right now. He wont get hardly any credit for it and it will be no big deal and he could still lose which would kill him.
or he can retire by fighting the #1 guy in the game and go out on top with his legacy secure and that is a winnable fight. ****, he better fight Winky instead of Tito but Winky will be even a harder win for him. Either he should retire or Shut up and fight Floyd because if he fights anyone else then he will look ****** but Im a prideful guy and if I was Floyd then I would tell Oscar to kiss my ass and I would move on because Floyd still has a bunch of big money fights out there for 8 mil and more. Margarito doesnt, thats why you cant compare at all.
Im glad that Floyd recently seems to be understanding this also. He just said that he's not concerned about Oscar right now and if they fight then great, but if not then he has plenty of options.
Oscar dont want to fight Tito and you guys are ****** for falling for it. Boxers do this all the time. Its basically how Floyd just used Spinks so he could pimp Baldy on a deal. Oscar is throwing out Tito's name so he can try to get a boat load of money and he will probally not let Mosley fight Floyd yet but Floyd wont care because he is still paid. He will just give in and fight Margarito or a bunch of other guys that he can fight and you know the Hatton fight wont be far away. In the end both Oscar & Floyd will give in a little because there is just too much money to be made but Oscar still needs this fight way more then people think.
Hey ****face
Settle down, stop crying, stop being a little *****, and get the **** off Floyd's nuts you ****ing annoying piece of ****. Go die.
Even if he wins his next 2 fights, you have to understand the Black american fanbase isnt the same as the rest of the population. Unlike alot of other nationalities when it comes to sports, black atheletes are a dime a dozen, black atheletes who perform at an elite level are a dime a dozen. Alot of black people arent going to get behind you because your elite at a sport and that includes boxing. Whereas other nationalities will get behind their guys because its not as common. When you think of the more popular sports here in america you dont think of boxing. The bigger sports get more support from the fans than does boxing.
With Floyd Mayweather his fanbase will mostly be people who really like boxing, because hes black, hes american and he has a style where he makes people look really bad, as opposed to someone who fights in an "exciting blood and guts" style. Granted Mayweathers name is known, but i dont think it will get much bigger than it is now unless he fights De La Hoya.
People dont relate to a Floyd Mayweather jr, I remember reading an article in the ring about Sugar Ray Robinson how alot of people didint like him, and alot of it had to do with him being so good, nobody could relate to it. People couldnt see themselves as a Ray Robinson, but yet somebody like Gatti loads of people including myself love, but people can relate to Gatti, standing in there, not the most skilled, not the best, but giving it his all even in the process of getting his ass kicked.
Floyd is just not like that, guys like him are in a class by themselves and people would rather see someone like that fail than succeed because hes arrogant, full of himself, talks alot of ****, but when hes backing it up every fight, its impossible to doubt him.
Really think about it. Who else can Floyd market himself to? You think say, mexicans are going to get behind Floyd? Most mexicans hardly ever get behind mexicans who arent from mexico (I.E Rocky Juarez) let alone someone who ISNT from mexico and doesnt stand in the pocket and trade every fight. Maybe some black puerto ricans might get behind Floyd, but not over their own fighter (Cotto). Some white folks here in america like Floyd, thats some of the fanbase, but pretty much his fanbase thats there now, while id estimate its sizezable enough to do well on PPV in the 300k range on average, isnt going to get any bigger than it is now unless he fights DLH.
Me personally I can relate to Floyd because my entire life i have been surrounded by atheletes, i played sports in high school and 2 people i played football with in high school are in the NFL, i understand why atheletes are arrogant, and even the most "humble" athelete is arrogant one way or another, some people are just more self flattering than others. But being around people like that i understand why they have to be that way, because nobody else will believe in you if you dont.
Oscar would fight Mayweather at 147. I think he's always felt good there and he retains all of the natural strength advantages over Floyd there, anyway.
Trinidad flat out does not deserve the rematch. The result of the first one was utter bull****.
De La Hoya is right what he says about Mayweather. Pound for pound or not, Mayweather has not come close to beating the consistent quality of opponents De La Hoya did, especially in recent years with the bull**** Gatti and Judah fights.
Moreover, quite honestly, compared to De La Hoya, Mayweather doesn't draw flies. 350-400, 000 PPV buys is just above average whereas De La Hoya did not fight for a year, took a bull**** warm up against Mayorga and almost cracked a million.
Mayweather-De La Hoya has the POTENTIAL to be the biggest grossing fight in history, or non-heavyweight history at least, but if it happens and does not draw, you can thank Floyd for that.

A bull**** warm up against mayorga? how is that a bull**** warm up? many ppl didn't think oscar would have stop mayorga anywhere near under 7 rounds. I don't want to hear ( tito destroy mayoga chin and this and that) cause thats a crappy excuse and that was two years ago.

Well, it's true...
Unless you're trying to tell me that Oscar punches harder than Trinidad? Trinidad gave Mayorga a beating of a lifetime. Oscar was a monster in that fight though, I got to admit.
I was one of the people that thought Mayorga will beat him and thought Oscar can win a decision, but not blow him out like that.
