Yeah, he would prolly be a very good powerlifter if he went that way. He just used his fast twitch muscle to release his strength quickly and thus lift a pretty high weight.

Physical strength does equate to punching power if the fighter knows how to throw a punch. An ability to curl a high weight can contriute to power if the fighter is throwing a hook or uppercut and he normally throws arm punches. But overal punching power is a combination of strength, mass, and the speed at which the punch travels.

Thats not strong. When I was 13 I benched 250. At the end of highschool I was trying to catch this guy who had the record at my highschool and he benched 385. Before I graduated I was still 17 and I surpassed this guy and the most I hit was 450. Nowadays I don't work out as much. But get this, Im only 5'6. Filipino I weighed 226 at the time I did it. But I also messed up my shoulder but still got it up. That was my biggest accomplishment in life when I was still young. LOL

Ya, your right about curls being able to contribute to how hard you throw your hooks, but curls alone won't do it, certain shoulder exercises can contribute to how fast and hard your throw your ALL your punches. You would have to work your shoulders with certain exercises and curl heavy weights fast for about 15 reps and 3 to 4 sets. Once you get used to that, you'll feel that you can throw you punches with way more speed than usual.
