tyson was way ahead of his time when he started fighting. his peers, bowe, holyfield, lennox were babies in boxing when he was a champion at 20 years old and undisputed at 21.. he was a shooting star and shooting stars very seldom last long. by the time his peers matured and were ready to fight him tyson was done. what he did within his first 3 years of boxing, become undisputed heavyweight champ of the world, is unmprecedented in sports period. hell, it took jordan 8 years to win his first nba championship. for three years, he was the best thing since sliced bread. he also revitalized boxing and brought untold millions to a sport which was dying for a hero. he has unprecedented pay-perview numbers that will probably never be broken. no fighter in history has generated more live gate money than he has; the list goes on. is he a hero, probably not; but he definitely change the complexion of a sport that has never been the same since he left. when tyson fought, it wasn't just a fight, it was a major event in the world of sports...

while i don't agree with many of the things tyson did outside the ring and a few inside, there is no question, that at one period of time he was an icon.

short but good. if you hadn't lived the tyson era, it'll be hard to fathom all these just by reading history.

Seriously that banner is terrible. Pacman is toast come this fall. Morales won't go out with a loss, he just won't.

OK, but here is the thing: you at least admit that he has three legitimate losses. A lot of Tyson fans declare his prime to have ended before he lost any fights, then saying that he doesn't have any legitimate losses because none of his losses came when he is in his prime. This is what Tyson fans do that drive me absolutely nuts, trying to discount all of his losses because of a coaching change.

When It Comes To Mike Don't Take Anything Elterrib Says To Heart, He Is Totally Biased Against Mike. To Say Mike Never Beat A Fighter In His Prime Is Like Saying Crack Didn't Rule The 80's. Either Or Ask Him When Lennox Did And He Will Say He Was The Best Ever And Dominated Guys, Even When He Was On His Back Arms Flailing Like A Fish Out Of Water.
