Actually Lewis career ended after that fight, not Vitali's.

The fight between Lewis/Vitali was stopped on cuts, it was a fight that Vitali was winning and had Lewis in trouble 3 different times. I never understand why Lewis never accepted the rematch becuase it would've probably been the biggest PPV since Lewis/Tyson fight.

I think Vitali should let this dream die, because it will never happen, Lewis will not fight him, how many years those it take for Vitali to actually believe this, also what will this fight prove to Vitali now, even if he knocks Lewis out, I say nothing.

Vitali either come back and fight or shut it with Lewis crap, **** is getting old.

actually if you watch the Briggs vs Lewis fight. lennox was losing on points b4 he destroyed him.

same would have happened to vittali

in fact it did. bcoz he lost on cuts.

it was the accumulation of punches that did vitali over.

Vitali's chin is 10 times better then Briggs. Vitali lost a large amount of blood in that fight and Lewis landed the most perfect punch on Vitali and guess what he was still standing after that punch.

We should've had a rematch for this fight, but Lewis didn't want the rematch.

Styles makes fights, I say Vitalli beats Lewis 9/10 times if he doesn't get cut.

Lewis beat Vitali fair and square the first time, and don't give me this "lucky cut" stoppage thing because he was getting reamed by huge uppercutts and right hands.

I'd suggest you watch it again, and as for this fight. It's really one of the best ideas this division has seen in a while.
Well, you can win "fair and square" and still get lucky. The cut that caused the stoppage was caused by the side of Lennox's glove scraping Vitali's eye on a punch that 90% missed. It was just a freak thing. Nobody has ever seen a cut of that magnitude caused by that kind of grazing punch before, at least I haven't.

So now, let's look and see what would have happened if the cut hadn't led to a stoppage..... Lennox was behind 4 round to 2. So Lennox would have had to pitch a near shutout to win (win minimum of 5 of the last 6 rounds to win), or stop Vitali by KO'ing him. Vitali appeared to be taking everything Lennox could throw, never wobbled, nowhere near being seriously hurt or stopped.

So if not for the freak cut, to say Lennox was going to win, to me, is a bit of a stretch. I just don't think Lennox was going to stop Vitali by KO'ing him, and I don't think Lennox was going to sweep 5 of the last 6 rounds. So yes, in my opinion, the victory was absolutely 100% legit, and yes it absolultey 100% had an element of luck involved with the side of the glove tearing open that freak cut.

That's why there should've been a rematch. I mean, it begged for a rematch. Lennox talked a lot of smack in the ring after the fight, but when the $20M offer came in for the rematch, Lennox quickly gathered the troops for the retirement press conference.
