Cuevas v Palomino

I recently got into this discussion on a UK BB and some interesting views were aired.

If this fight would have ever took place when both held a version of the Welterweight world title around mid to late 70's who would have won?

IMHO I would have gone for Palimino to break his man down mid rounds. However a majority went for a Cuevas clean KO.

What do you reckon? Hopefully theres a few oldies on here to give a clearer perspective.

i see palimino breaking him down late, he had good hand speed and he was a tough mo fo, duran whipped his ass, and hit him with monsterous shots and he was still strong, while duran koed cuevas in 4, i think palimino excellent chin is the difference in the fight

I have seen much of their fights in not from that era, I've seen both Palomino and Cuevas v. Duran but its been awhile since i seen it but Wasn't the Cuevas fight after the Hearns fight? They say after Hearns Cuevas was never the same. I'd have to see some of their fight to see how they'd match up.

yea it was after, but what there fight showed was cuevas couldnt take duran punches, duran wasnt the same either after leanord, palimino met the same duran leanord met in the first fight,
