How the hell did Peter-Toney materialize anyway?

Ya know, I musta been sitting on a brainfart or something for quite some time when this happened. Even upon reading something weeks after it was mentioned or signed, I hadn't had a build up clue that it was going to happen. Then when it was signed, I still didn't have it locked in my head. Not until about the end of July, early Aug. that I found out this was gonna happen. Now I'm more excited than ever. It's nearly here and a great matchup stylistically. Anyone else got this brainfart besides me?

It was right out of the blue if I recall.......I remember hearing about it here and then they announced it on a Showtime broadcast but it was very sudden if I remember correctly.

Toney's camp was in negotiations to fight Wlad Klitschko and weren't happy with the spilt they were getting. The talks stalled and then talks started between Toney and Peter. They both thought it would be a good fight and it was signed.

They were both at a buffet and Peter ate the last chicken wing. Toney became enraged and accused Peter of eating "his chicken wing". Now Toney wants to beat Peter for all the eaten chicken wings of the world. Peter of course has no idea what Toney is talking about but is always game for a good scrap. Well, there you have it. On a sidenote, boxing legend Donald Hoskins thinks that Toney is "hungry" enough to pull it off and has offered his training services to the Toney camp.

Interesting matchup where on the surface you would have thought both sides wopuld have tried to wiggle out of such a dangerous fight.

Very good for boxing-too bad we dont see more of this ****!

This fued has been awhile now. After the Ruiz fight Toney called Ruiz garbage and he could now go back to what ever trash dump he came from. Duva took exception with this post fight comment (apparently good friends w/Johnny). Duva said Toneys a disrespectful punk and his boy, Peter, would eat him alive. Hence the war of words since and the eventual matchup

man this is what happens when 2 fights have balls and arent worried about getting beat up ... this match can go 2 ways and neither one of them is pleasent for the loser...toney could get knocked straight boliva or peter is gonna get embarressed and will prolly become ruined like jirov

as for the guy makeing the comments about toney and peters being fat...uhhh at least there not holding onto there records at least they have the ****ing balls to fight eachother..whats that? klitchko and brock is still in negotiation...whos that? chris byrd never fought the guys he said he was going to ...hows that you say? haseem rahman got his head knocked off before he even started...

yeah at least james toney has ****ing BALLS to fight people and does a damn good job at it too its a damn sad day in the sport we cant say the same for 75 percent of the other fighters out there
