where this leaves trinidad i don't know.
So says *********. Didn't ya'll hear Lou DiBella say that the fight with Joppy was on for Dec. 4th? I think Lou knows what he's talking about. We'll just have to wait and see.

As for whom Tito will fight, I hope it's Cory so he can shut his big mouth up. If not, a match with the Mosley - Wright winner is the probability.

i hope tito knows that if he does this and then get into the ring with a guy that has bascially what moyorga and spinks do in one(nard-ability and power) he's not gonna avenge his lost

Jermian Taylor is busy he's fighting William Joppy next. Tito was a legit middleweight. He destroyed Joppy and Cheriffi two legit top 10 guys at 160.

The guy has been off for a minute he deserves sometime to get back into it.

Unless Trinidad really belives that a fight against Spinks would prepare him for Hopkins, taking on Spinks is not a mistake. You know how a prospect is built, right? Management picks out one fighter after another, each of whom asks a different question of their fighter, and none of whom are really complete boxers. Well, right now it's as if Trinidad is a prospect. The public needs to see how he answers the questions different fighters ask of him. So far we know he can land two thirds of his punches against a a hard puncher, but one who was tailor-made for him, and that he looks better doing that than he ever has before. Now people are asking whether he can catch up with a mover and take him out. There's not a huge amount of risk involved, because Cory Spinks would deservedly be the underdog. He was unofficially dropped by Mayorga, and Zab dropped him too. He has a decent beard, but it shouldn't stand up to Tito's punches, espoecially since Trinidad is so economical with his punches, placing them exactly where he wants. The imperfect part about Spinks is he's not as big as Trinidad.

How can this be right, who has he beat at welterweight
to get a shot at spink's belts.
And if he wins, who has he beat at middleweight to
              get a shot at hopkins.

WAKE UP, You Guys! This isn't about Tito or Spinks. It's Don King and $$$
Who besides DLH can Tito fight now and make DK the kind of bread he's looking for from his cash cow? And why the hell would Spinks take this fight, which may well ruin his career, if DK didn't have him by the short and curlies? If DLH won't sign yet, Tito SHOULD fight a legit middleweight if he hopes to have a chance against Philly Finest!

While I don't think this would be a compelling fight to see, I think it actually makes sense if he's really headed for a rematch with Hopkins, assuming he wins.

While Spinks can not likely stand up to the power that Tito brings to the table, he is one of the slickest boxers in the sport. If you don't believe me, ask Zab Judah.

Hopkins' biggest weapon against Tito is his boxing ability. Hopkins has never been an overwhelming puncher. He has relied on his great boxing skills in order to beat opponents. This is one of the reasons he's had his great career in near obscurity.

By taking on one of the best boxers in the sport, Tito will be preparing himself to fight a boxer. He can use the tape to see where his weakneses against Hopkins would be most prominent and work more on those areas than others.

Again, the fight isn't compelling to see, and won't do much to advance Tito in the eyes of the boxing public, but I think it has definite value as a warm-up fight.

exactly, people want tito to fight the best because of his history, but i say let the man warm up, Mayorga was a perfect stepping block. by the way, Shakira is no joke. very nice.

you guys are killing me. You are actually counting out spinks when the man can actually box. Yes Trini can KO him early and the power is the extreme difference. But in order to kill a chicken you have to catch him. This is a great fight to prepare Trinidad to beat Hopkins. If Trinidad can catch spinks and KO him early then there is no reason to believe that Trini won't be able to catch Hopkins and get the KO. Hopkins isn't getting better he is actually getting older, it shows in every fight he takes. Hopkins is getting more and more cautious every time he steps into the ring. Just look at the DLH fight if you think I am full of crap.
