Looks like the "Smurf Boxer" IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham won't be wearing his famous golden hat into the ring on September 23 in Wetzlar, Germany when he defends against mandatory challenger Edison Miranda. According to the "Bild" newspaper, Sauerland Event and Abraham have received a declaration to cease and desist from a Berlin lawyer representing Peyo S.A. and IMPS S.A., the companies that own the rights to the cartoon figures. The companies also demand that Abraham stop the playing "The Smurf Song" when he enters the ring, despite the fact that the song's writer/singer Pierre Kartner a.k.a. Father Abraham is an Arthur Abraham fan and has personally sung the tune during the champion's ring walk. Abraham will probably use the nickname of "King Arthur" or "Brilliant Abraham." It is not known if Arthur sees the loss as a bad omen for the fight against the strong as an ox Miranda.
