Was it ever that big of a deal for Hatton? If the suspension was longer he could've just fought Castillo at the MEN Arena.

I honestly think Jose Luis Castillo would make Hatton hit the canvas, especially if he just walks in and tries to bully him. That is just not going to work against Castillo.

          FOTY 07.

And no, I don't think Hatton can fight him at MEN unless he goes through Warren. I think Team Hatton would see that as a step backwards, even though it would be a huge fight. They sacrificed to come to the US and get on HBO, and I don't they want to go back to the whole Warren MEN thing.

hatton wants to get his audience here in america though. He might've could've fought him somewhere else in america besides Las vegas.

Its hard for me to concede anything Team Hatton does as a step back after going back to 140lbs and fight Urango. Anyway this "American Invasion" that Hatton is on was/is suppose to increase his American popularity.

Lets say if Castillo was suspended for 18-24 months your telling me that the Castillo fight at the MEN arena would be a step backward . Its the best fight he could make at 140lbs to gain american fans regardless of location, even the Tzu fight which was in England but broadcast in the States in prime time brought him fans. I dont see how the possibilty of him fighting Castillo at the MEN would've been any different.

Other boxing commission would uphold the NSAC so the states would've been out of the question for Castillo.

I was speaking more about having to deal with Warren again, after an ugly split. The purpose of all of that was to come to the US, so for him to now go crawling back to Warren for a fight in MEN would, yes, be considered a step back to them.

Any of the UK'ers can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I read that Warren has exclusive rights to promote fights at the MEN. For a fight that big, yeah, Hatton may work with Warren again, but I doubt that he or his team would be very happy about it.

All I'm saying is that I dont think Castillo's hearing played a big factor on if Hatton would've fought Castillo or not. Irregardless of the hearing decision I think if Hatton and his team wanted Castillo they could've made it happen.

With a larger suspension I think Hatton would've probably had better negotiation leverage. Where in the world and against whom could Castillo command a big pay day from other than Hatton.
